Outrageous Rugs will welcome interior designer Faye Fentin into the store February 6 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to offer free design consultations with customers; Fentin will chat with customers looking for area rugs on a first-come-first-serve basis
SAN DIEGO, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 3, 2016 / Outrageous Rugs has announced that expert San Diego interior designer Faye Fentin will be at the store on Feb. 6 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. to assist customers with their rug buying decisions by offering free design consultations.
Customers are encouraged to bring color swatches from the furniture, decor and paint in the room they are purchasing a rug for and Fentin will make her professional recommendations to them about what rug would go best with those colors.
Fentin, who is Director of Membership at the American Society of Interior Designers, has over 25 years of design experience and has over 20 years of experience working with Outrageous Rugs for her clients.
"To me, the area rug is the frosting on the cake, the diamond in the room," Fentin said. "It's always the last thing I bring in because it pulls everything in the room together and adds personality to the room. It would be helpful if customers bring in a material color or a paint color and also provide me with the size of the room."
If customers don't bring any materials in, Fentin said, she'll still be able to help them, but the more she knows about the room people are buying the rug for, the more help she’ll be able to offer.
Outrageous Rugs co-founder Steve Blumkin says he is thrilled to have Fentin come to the store to offer free design consultations for customers.
"We've been working with Faye for a long time and she's one of the best designers in San Diego," Blumkin said. "Our customers are not always sure what rug would go best with the rooms they are decorating, so getting a professional recommendation from an expert interior designer will be extremely helpful for them. We always recommend people to bring photos or color swatches that represent the decor in their room, but it will be especially important on Feb. 6 if they want to take advantage of Faye’s expertise."
Having Fentin come into Outrageous Rugs for the purpose of handing out design advice came about from an informal conversation between the store owners and the designer, Outrageous Rugs co-founder Ross Margolin notes. And while they are open to the idea of bringing her in again or possibly bringing in other designers for similar events, they'll gauge how successful this one is before deciding if they want to make it a regular event.
"It would be wonderful to be able to offer this kind of event on a monthly basis, but we want to see how the reception is first before we make any further plans. We're confident our customer base will appreciate the opportunity to chat informally with an expert designer and get some free design advice."
