Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA

DORTMUND, GERMANY / ACCESSWIRE / March 9, 2020 / Despite looming matchdays being held without spectators ("matches behind closed doors"), Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA ("Borussia Dortmund") currently does not expect any significant, lasting negative effects or impact on the asset, financial and earnings position due to the current "Corona Virus" situation.

In the short term, matches behind closed doors can have a negative impact on group earnings before taxes of between EUR 2.5 and 3.0 million per affected matchday.

It goes without saying that the health of the general public and thus all football fans is the top priority. With that in mind, our objective in all walks of life needs to be to find the right balance between reasonable precautions and overcaution.

Borussia Dortmund will of course work closely with the relevant authorities as well as the DFL and UEFA to determine the procedure for forthcoming matchdays in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League.
