NEWPORT BEACH, CA/ ACCESSWIRE / December 11, 2020 / For anyone who thought 2020 was the year to "write-off", a handful of impressive teenpreneurs might tell you differently. Throughout 2020, Beta Bowl, the teen-focused virtual entrepreneurship extracurricular enrichment program and student accelerator has seen its fair share of innovative businesses, new technology and product ideas, and even impactful nonprofits. Despite the pandemic and disruption, many students may have experienced this past year, Beta Bowl students like Raina Jain, Cara Gosin, and Krish Chaudhary have been hard at work making a positive impact on our world today.
Among the hundreds of students who've gone through the entrepreneurship program over the past few months, some have stood out for their ingenuity, hands-on impact, and real-world results, ranging from thousands of pre-orders within days of launching to ready-to-implement business-to-business (B2B) software to fully operational businesses with hundreds of recurring customers. The Beta Bowl 2020 Student Pitch Expo highlights eleven recent Beta Bowl students and the products, services, technologies, and business ideas they've created. When most people think "business", revenue and profit come to mind, but Beta Bowl student businesses aren't simply there for the "money grab". These impressive students have found ways to profoundly help people, businesses, the environment, and tackle major crises in our world today.
Cara Gosin enrolled in Beta Bowl early on in the pandemic, as a 9th grader with no business experience, no idea coming in, and very unsure of her potential contribution. By the end of her Beta Bowl experience, Cara came up with CG Innovations and their host of B2B and business-to-consumer (B2C) products to enhance safety and convenience throughout this disruptive period. Cara's B2B shopping cart handlebar cover product offers a safe, eco-friendly, clean, and convenient solution to improve the customer and employee experience, increase in-store foot traffic, and help revive brick-and-mortar sales. In fact, Cara's product has built-in recurring revenue and the potential to expand across stores nationwide and even internationally.
Cara isn't the only student seeking innovative solutions during this pandemic. Krish Chaudhary began thinking about tech-enabled solutions to real-world problems long before he enrolled in Beta Bowl. Krish's talent for developing software and testing the limits of artificial intelligence and facial recognition didn't go unnoticed throughout his high school career. In fact, Krish came into Beta Bowl with one software project nearly complete: an artificial intelligence-powered facial recognition product to maintain social distancing and contact tracing. However, Krish didn't have a plan to monetize this product or even to get it into the hands of the businesses and organizations that needed it most. Throughout his Beta Bowl experience, he ended up creating Software Infinity, with a suite of artificial intelligence and facial recognition-powered products with a variety of business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) use cases. Krish developed five independent revenue streams and a variety of products to ensure the longevity of his company, even beyond the age of "social distancing". His products include the B2B AI-powered facial recognition social distancing and contact tracing software, a B2B automatic attendance system, a B2B enhanced bank security product, a potential B2C enhanced home security system, and a both B2B and B2C lane-line detection software for safer driving at night.
While Cara's and Krish's businesses were initially born out of tackling timely pandemic-related issues, many Beta Bowl students took 2020 as an opportunity to explore a completely unrelated problem or business opportunity, and they've still come out making world-changing impacts. Raina Jain has finally launched the culmination of her scientific research and entrepreneurial pursuits, HiveGuard, with her patented miticidal beehive entryway product to decimate the parasitic varroa mite infestations that threaten the honeybee population and the beekeeping industry. Raina launched to over 4,000 unique pre-orders and three bulk orders of 100 entryways or more, and her product is currently being beta tested by beekeepers across the US and in Europe.
The Beta Bowl 2020 pitch expo presenters represent just a fraction of a percent of the impressive, innovative students that have turned ideas into viable, impactful products and services. Other featured pitch expo students include: Justin Leusner, who created YF Visuals as a video editing and branding company whose clients have already amassed millions of views on their produced content; Zach Schiller with a new food preference and recommendation app that boasts 5 revenue streams and unique social networking features to increase daily user engagement; Jacob Fleishman with his solution to child hospital patient boredom, Puzzles for Patients; Reed Paltrowitz who is passionate about giving adolescents and teens a robust personal finance toolkit through his company Financial Learning Academy and their engaging, interactive, educational personal finance website and app; Ethan Chow who aims to solve the nation's hunger crisis with his Healthy Food Connector; Shira Cohen with her student-focused near-campus rental marketplace College Homes; Maddie Novak with Bops Biz Breakout to give indie artists the clear path and connections to success; and Varun Muthu with his company Focus Group Investments artificial intelligence-powered trading indicator for various asset classes and pipeline trading bot, currently in beta testing.
