LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / June 2, 2021 / A scholarship program started by Rostrum Records President and Founder Benjy Grinberg now opens its doors for new entries in the academic year 2021-2022. All applicants must submit their details plus essays on the official website on or before April 1, 2022. Winners will receive a $1,000 financial grant on the next college semester once selections are finalized.
The path to pursuing a higher education degree is a challenging road for some. In 2017, only 1.9 million students went on to get a college degree out of the 2.9 million high school graduates in the United States. Although some will opt not to go to college by choice, there are others who have the desire to get a degree but are hindered by financial constraints.
This predicament is to be expected--as college tuition fees balloon for up to 80% from 2000-2014 while household incomes remain stagnant, many will indeed have difficulties prioritizing a college degree. The current financial situation of many students and the debt crisis faced by graduates is what inspired Benjy Grinberg to start his scholarship program.
The Benjy Grinberg Scholarship is open to all college students in the United States. To pass an application, one must meet any of the following criteria:
- Current student pursuing an undergraduate or a graduate degree
- High school senior accepted into a higher education program
Interested students will need to submit their details such as name, contact information, and the name of the college enrolled in. Additionally, they must also write a 500-word essay with the following prompt: "Many often find music comforting during difficult times. How has music played an impact on your life and educational journey?"
All applicants must complete their entries on or before April 1, 2022. A review of entries will begin shortly, after which the winners will receive the $1,000 financial grant to be applied on the coming academic semester. Previous winners of the 2020-2021 scholarship program are Evan Cunningham of Marietta College in Ohio, and Shawana Yodice of Rowan University in New Jersey.
