NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / July 28, 2021 / Veteran arts educator Daniela Fifi is the featured subject of an in-depth new professional profile. "Scarlett Project began by producing plays in the Caribbean," she remarks, elaborating, "It was launched by featuring classical Caribbean plays but directed with contemporary sensibilities for modern-day audiences. Alongside each theatrical production, Scarlett Project would host a series of art education workshops. The outcomes were really beautiful. Scarlett Project's plays and workshops were such a success that we even obtained corporate sponsorship support from companies such as British Petroleum (BP). Now, with moving the organization to the US, we are bringing our work to different spaces and to different audiences through curriculum development."

Dr. Daniela Fifi, Ed.D has worked as an arts educator, and a curator in galleries and museums in the United States and the Caribbean. She is a doctoral graduate in Art and Art Education at Teachers College, Columbia University and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute, New York and a Master of Arts in Art Gallery and Museum Studies from the University of Manchester, UK. Her doctoral research focuses on Caribbean art and intercultural educational programming. Daniela has been awarded several fellowships and awards during her career, including the New York State Assembly Caribbean Life Impact Award, the Museum Education Research Fellowship at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Samuel H. Kress Interpretive Fellowship.
Daniela Fifi has taught art education, world art history, and human development in the arts at The City College of New York and New Jersey City University. She is currently the Managing Editor of Small Axe Visualities: A Caribbean Platform for Criticism, a project of the Small Axe Journal (Duke University Press) and also serves on the peer-review board for Art Education and Viewfinder, a journal of the National Art Education Association (USA).
