Appointments made as Immutable becomes the fastest Australian company to reach unicorn status following the launch of its IMX token

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA / ACCESSWIRE / December 9, 2021 / Immutable, the leading international NFT technology and gaming company, has appointed three senior executives to support its rapid global expansion.

The appointments come as global tech and gaming companies look to partner with Immutable to utilise Immutable X, the world's most technically advanced solution for scaling and trading NFTs on Ethereum.

They also follow Immutable's recent launch of its IMX token, which now has an estimated fully diluted market capitalisation of US$12 billion, making Immutable the fastest Australian company to have reached unicorn status.

IMX is a utility token for the Immutable X protocol that is designed to drive the adoption of NFTs and help creators, players and developers reimagine value in a digital ecosystem.

Gill Findlay has been appointed to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer. Gill has held numerous senior roles in some of Australia's leading tech companies. She joins Immutable from venture capital firm, AirTree, where she was its Operating Partner responsible for supporting portfolio founders and companies as they scaled their businesses. Gill continues her relationship with AirTree as a Venture Partner.

In her new role at Immutable, Gill will be responsible for the daily operations of the business, working closely with Immutable's co-founders, brothers James and Robbie Ferguson, to provide strategic vision and leadership and bringing her operational and GTM expertise to scale the business.

Prior to AirTree, Gillian was CEO of Vamp, a global marketing technology platform, in which she is still involved as a non-executive director; and before that she was COO at unicorn, SafetyCulture, where she spent four years leading GTM, finance, people and culture and operations. Gill is a chartered accountant and graduate member of AICD.

AirTree joined Immutable's recent A$82m Series B funding, led by King River Capital and BITKRAFT Ventures.

John Boris has been appointed to the newly created role of Chief Growth Officer. He will be responsible for growing the Immutable brand, business development, marketing and community management, a central tenet for Immutable.

John joins Immutable from Silicon Valley, having spent his career in the US, scaling tech-enabled businesses and creating leading brands across the e-commerce, marketplace and entertainment sectors.

Most recently John was CEO of IfOnly, a leading US direct-to-consumer and B2B marketplace offering unique events and experiences, where he led its sale to MasterCard in late 2019. Prior to that he was CMO of Shutterfly, a company he helped grow to more than $2 billion in annual revenues. John has also served on the Boards of the US Consumer Technology Association, and the Google Retail Advisory Council.

Katherine Rau joins Immutable as its Chief People Officer, another newly created role as the company looks to rapidly scale up. She brings extensive experience building and developing leading teams in the tech sector.

Katherine joins Immutable from Culture Amp, where she was Global Vice President of People and Experience. She has previously led talent acquisition and culture across leading businesses such as Unlockd and Catch.com.au.

The appointments allow founders, James and Robbie Ferguson to continue their focus on developing innovative applications for Immutable X, leading the business in new industry sectors yet to deploy NFTs to transform their business models and open up new markets and growth opportunities.

Commenting on the three new appointments, James Ferguson, CEO of Immutable, said:

"We are delighted to welcome Gill, John and Kath to Immutable. Their experience and insights will be key as we rapidly scale one of the fastest growing companies in crypto and capture the growing global demand for NFTs. Despite the tremendous growth already seen, it is still early in the adoption curve for the $200 billion gaming, collectables and other related industries and we look forward to introducing the next 100 million users to NFTs and the metaverse.
