LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / December 16, 2021 / Building one business from the ground up is already difficult. Building 11 businesses? Now that's extremely hard. Ivan Thompson, a 30-year old lawyer and serial entrepreneur did it anyway. Take note, he did not have a trust fund to back him up.

Backed by great passion and determination to reach his goals, Thompson took a lot of risks to get to where he is today. At the young age of 15, Thompson officially started being an entrepreneur. He sold cell phones, shoes, and clothes.

"I had access to my grandma's credit card. She'd let me order shoes for myself as long as I paid it off by the end of the month. I'd order myself phones, shoes, and clothes, especially when BBC and Ed Hardy were hard to get," Thompson recalled. "I'd bring them to school, to my church, or wherever and I'd sell them", he continued.

Thompson then entered law school. He juggled several jobs with his demanding studies. Law may be his first calling, but Thompson tried his hand at e-commerce to earn more money to finance his goals.

Thompson was inspired by his creative brother who had a clothing line. Since he did not like what regular stores sold, Thompson decided to team up with his brother to create a stylish line that represented people like them. In an effort to expand his reach, Thompson then teamed up with his cousin to launch another brand called Mill Ticket.

"Guys from my neighborhood, my friends, family, wanted it. It spread so fast I couldn't keep up with the demand," Thompson recalled.

Stores from NYC, the LA Fashion District, London, and Kuala Lumpur also carried Thompson's brand. He was just 20 years old at that time. Thompson's business was earning 60,000 to 70,000 dollars per year. It grew to 250,000 the next year. During the third year, Thompson's business earned over a million dollars. Studying and working hard for more than a decade eventually paid off for Thompson.

At 30, Thompson owns several profitable businesses namely the Law Office of Ivan J. Thompson, Gaidry Thompson Properties, Thompson Realty Group, Royalty 10, Mill-Ticket, Viral, Escape Route and Chateau Alcoholic Beverage. Interestingly, Thompson's flair for practicing law did not come out of nowhere. His father Kevin Thompson is an attorney as well. One can say that Ivan Thompson was heavily influenced by his father.

"My inspiration for becoming a lawyer was my father," Thompson revealed.

Thompson's background in law also helped him launch successful real estate businesses.

"Real estate was something I always heard successful entrepreneurs speak about. I went out on a limb for my real estate project and profited. I haven't looked back since," Thompson stated.

Currently, Thompson is venturing into the tech industry with a new app called Go Lawyer. While Thompson cannot reveal a lot of details due to contractual obligations, he said that the app will definitely change the game for lawyers.
