The Integration Grants Behance Access to Polygon's Highly Composable Ecosystem, Enabling Users To Take Advantage of Natively Supported Platforms, Such As OpenSea, While Bypassing the Inefficiencies of the Ethereum Network
DUBAI, UAE / ACCESSWIRE / March 9, 2022 / Polygon, an Ethereum scaling platform onboarding millions to Web3, today announces integration with Behance, Adobe's creative social media platform, to support the expansion of the platform's new NFT functionality. The integration will allow creators to showcase their NFTs while minimizing their carbon footprint and bypassing the hefty transaction fees associated with the Ethereum network.
Behance's integration with Polygon represents the next step for the platform as it continues its foray into Web3. The creative portfolio site recently added support for NFT functionality, enabling artists to add their NFT-based creations directly to the site. Since then, tens of thousands of active Metamask wallets have connected to Behance, highlighting the latent demand to display Ethereum-based NFTs on the platform.
Polygon's frictionless and sustainable Layer-2 Ethereum scaling platform offers a fast, scalable, and ultra-low fee environment to onboard Behance users into Web3. This looks to solve creator concerns around the carbon impact and lofty transaction fees associated with Ethereum.
Moreover, thanks to Polygon's direct integration with OpenSea - one of the largest NFT marketplaces - creators are now able to seamlessly mint their tokens directly on the Polygon network via OpenSea, bypassing the Ethereum network altogether.
Polygon uses an efficient Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism to mint and transfer assets, which drastically reduces the network's carbon footprint. Minting a single NFT on Polygon produces about 66 grams of CO2, the equivalent of driving 0.26 kilometres. The vast majority of those emissions will disappear when Ethereum switches to PoS later this year.
OpenSea is also among the first NFT marketplaces to adopt Adobe's recently unveiled "Content Credentials" function, allowing creators to cryptographically authenticate their work.
Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, said: "We're hugely proud to support Behance's transition into Web3. By combining Polygon's low-cost and composable network with Behance's new NFT functionality, creators can take a holistic journey from design to showcase, all the way to the potential sale of the NFT. Allowing users to embrace this technology in an efficient and environmentally-conscious way stands to greatly augment the creator economy."
Will Allen, VP at Adobe said: "Our mission at @Behance is to help creatives build their careers on their own terms. It has been exciting to see so many artists share the NFTs they created on their Behance profile. I'm thrilled to now include NFTs minted on Polygon as well: the low transaction fees on this Proof of Stake chain are a key step for making NFTs more accessible to everyone"
