Ondek Works to Solve Some of the Biggest Challenges in America’s Healthcare Industry

Thursday, 17 March 2022 12:00 PM

HARKER HEIGHTS, TX / ACCESSWIRE / March 17, 2022 / Ondek Enterprise, the $16M company that is changing how short-term and long-term medical professionals are recruited and managed, has announced the creation of its three subsidiaries, Ondek Healthcare LLC, Medcruit, and Ondek LabXpress. Ondek Enterprise states that its goal in establishing the three companies is to streamline the healthcare industry, increase the retention of qualified healthcare professionals, and ultimately make the industry more patient-centric.

The announcement comes as the healthcare space continues to search for solutions to a shortage of employees. Some experts are predicting that there will be a shortage of up to 3.2M healthcare workers by 2026. Behind that potential outcome lie increasing stress, trauma, and burnout due in part to COVID-19 and the resulting demands on medical facilities.

"We believe we are in a unique position to help to potentially alleviate the issue because we are owned by a nurse who has several decades of experience in the field," says a spokesperson for Ondek. "With that in mind, we understand the industry from the inside out, including the pressure points found in medical facilities. Through Ondek Healthcare LLC, we have a plan for potentially solving them. We have tailored our recruitment and retention procedures, including a stronger vetting process, and this is improving the quality of nurses, physical therapists, soon to be locum tenens and other medical professionals that we recruit for facilities."

Waste in the healthcare system is also a well-known problem, with some experts estimating that up to 30% of spending in the industry may be considered wasteful. Ondek states that its goal is to help bring this number down by streamlining the operations at facilities through the use of digital technology.

"We are working on completing Medcruit, a web and mobile farseeing platform, to address this issue," the company explains. "Healthcare professionals will be able to connect with healthcare facilities without the need of traditional staffing agencies. Our goal is to drastically empower clinicians and facilities to an insanely obsessed degree with lean processes tailored to their specific needs. Through Medcruit, we seek to enable clinicians by giving them complete control over workflows and financial abilities, creating a voice on both sides. Medical facilities, we predict, will have access to insights and performance metrics to help them potentially run more smoothly."

Ondek continues by saying its subsidiary, Ondek LabXpress, was designed to eliminate waste in the diagnostics area. "By offering CLIA waived testing, blood sugar testing, urine drug screens, and other services in house instead of outsourcing them, we expect that the amount of money spent on these procedures will come down," it states.

The issues experienced in the industry are numerous, of course, and it is reasonable to say that they are beyond the scope of one company to solve. However, as Ondek is in 50 states and is open 24/7/365, they may be able to effect the change they are seeking.

"We envision a different type of healthcare system," Ondek states, "one that eliminates waste and helps qualified medical professionals to more easily find short-term and long-term positions. Some might say that is impossible. We respectfully disagree and believe the improvements are already at our doorstep."

Ondek Healthcare LLC was founded by Tanya Salyers and Brandon Salyers and is a healthcare placement firm that assists healthcare facilities with short-term and long-term supplemental staffing needs. It is Black-owned, women-owned, and nurse-owned and a Texas HUB organization For more information on Ondek, please see its website or contact:
