Launched in Beta Form in November 2021 With V1 Coming This Year, Availyst Is a Food Discovery App That Simplifies Grocery, Takeout, Convenience, and Spirit Delivery
PHILADELPHIA, PA / ACCESSWIRE / July 14, 2022 / This week, Availyst was announced as a member of the Techstars Farm to Fork Accelerator 2022 cohort, thus kicking off an intensive three-month business development and mentorship program, sponsored by Cargill and Ecolab, designed to 'accelerate' the business to the next stage. Availyst is a food discovery app that allows consumers to find and sort through local grocery, takeout, convenience, and spirit delivery options across an array of providers and offers up to 4x more results than major delivery apps. Availyst, which launched to the public in November 2021, is currently in Beta phase with V1 rolling out later this year.
Techstars Farm-to-Fork is a world-class accelerator that was created to help advance the critical role of innovation in the food and agriculture industries. The program provides in-depth foundational content to prepare founders to scale startups and creates strong mentoring relationships with experts in relevant industries and in all aspects of entrepreneurship. Participants often say that they accomplish more in these three months than they would in a year and a half working on their own. Availyst is in good company as one of only 12 companies to be awarded a spot in this year's program. On average, Techstars accepts only 1-2% of applicants, and has 19 unicorns in their portfolio to-date.
"We chose to apply for this program specifically - not only for the reputation and success of Techstars - but because of the access to subject matter experts and mentors in the Food and Beverage industry that it would provide," said Mandy Poston, Founder & CEO of Availyst. "We believe that Availyst is filling a gap in the consumer ordering experience, which is something that over 52% of Americans utilize. Our goal is to emerge from Farm-to-Fork with a refined and stress-tested path to growth through strategic partnerships, immersive focus, and most importantly, newly acquired knowledge from industry experts."
As a part of the Techstars Farm-to-Fork Accelerator program, Availyst will receive an investment from Techstars, take part in a 3-month accelerator alongside other companies in the 2022 cohort, work closely with mentors and the sponsoring companies, and participate in a demo-day at the end of the program where investors and interested stakeholders are invited to meet and learn more about the graduating companies.
"At Farm to Fork, we not only look for companies that will move the food industry forward but companies that have incredible founders. Availyst has just that," said Sarah Bain, Venture Principal, Techstars. "Their customer-centric approach to food discovery makes them an exciting addition to our portfolio."
Attending the program will be startup veterans Mandy Poston and COO, Alec Kissell. Having previously spent 6 years working together to help grow another Philadelphia-based startup, Mandy and Alec understand the importance of early stage product and organizational development and look forward to the opportunity to expedite Availyst's growth.
