NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / September 6, 2022 / Filterbaby, a biotechnology company focused on improving water for better skin and health, has released their inaugural product: the first dermatologically tested and approved water filter to be attached to bathroom faucets for skincare. The startup has also announced that they competed with 134 other companies and 484 individuals to become one of the winners of the Innovate Children's Healthcare Challenge hosted by the Center for Advancing Innovation (CAI). A team of over twenty judges chose Filterbaby for the award based on the company's mission, business model, and performance during their initial launch.
"Each year in the United States, there are more than 50,000 cases of tap water violations on average affecting hundreds millions of Americans with chemicals, microplastics, and contaminants in our tap water," says Xin Ma, Filterbaby's Founder. A former third-generation healthcare professional, Ma created Filterbaby when she noticed a correlation between tap water and her own skin conditions, and she set out to find ways to minimize the effects that chemicals within tap water can have on the skin. "Nobody ever looked at the water as a potential source for exacerbating certain skin conditions, but water is so essential when it comes to skincare. With our filter, we aim to disrupt the $600B beauty and health industry and create an entirely new line of skincare that is focused around water."
While Filterbaby was only launched in May 2022, they are already partnering with the Children's National Hospital in collaboration with the Center for Advancing Innovation. The purpose is to research and innovate better technology for children who are born with eczema, rosacea, and other skin conditions. With only organic growth and zero dollars spent on ads and influencers, within two months of launch, Filterbaby has landed in thousands of homes, 95% of which are on subscriptions.
"We haven't done any ads or influencer marketing yet, so the demand speaks for itself. Our customers are extremely happy and send us dozens of befores and afters, thanking us that a product like this exists. It is very fulfilling to know we're helping people to look their best, feel their best, and live their best lives." says Ma. The company is also focused on using technology to help U.S. residents to know the quality of their tap water. They are developing an app that will allow users to see the state of their tap water, including any violations.
Filterbaby has plans to expand into other elements in the bathroom, including showerheads and bathtub faucets, and to spread internationally. "The difference between million-dollar and billion-dollar companies is the ability to scale; our goal is to spread internationally. We already have hundreds of wholesale vendors from 25 different countries who have been reaching out to us over the past two months; we know the demand for water filtration technology is colossal internationally, where citizens just know there's something wrong with their water. We plan to work very hard over the coming months so that our filters are available to anyone who may want to use them in their skincare regime."
Filterbaby is a biotechnology company with a mission to improve skin and health care as well as to provide transparent and easily accessible water data to their customers. Their first product is a faucet-mounted water filter that improves the facial skin by reducing chemicals and contaminants in water. The company launched in May 2022 and aspires to collaborate with more scientific organizations to create a greater household product that will reach a broader range of people. Filterbaby has more than 60,000 followers on social media, a total of 60M+ video views, and over 300,000 shares - all achieved organically within its first two months of operation.
