Nation's Largest Urgent Care Provider Marks Major Milestone in Conjunction With 40th Anniversary
BIRMINGHAM, AL / ACCESSWIRE / November 14, 2022 / American Family Care (AFC), the nation's leading provider of accessible primary care, urgent care and occupational medicine, continues to blaze a trial in the healthcare industry with the opening of its 300th location in Wendell, North Carolina. It is a milestone moment for the brand which marks 40 years of caring for American families.
AFC Wendell, is independently owned and operated by North Carolina natives Aaron Fields of Raleigh and Aaron Zucker of Charlotte. Fields and Zucker are not only business partners - they've been friends since they were 15. This is the entrepreneurial pair's second location as they opened their first location in Fuquay-Varina, in September of 2020.
"Soon after opening our first location, we quickly realized how badly the area needed accessible and affordable healthcare, so we immediately began looking at locations for our next facility," explains Zucker. "Wendell is the fastest growing town in the entire state. It made sense to expand in an area where we are needed the most."
The population of the up-and-coming town has more than doubled since 2010, with young families making up the bulk of the new faces.
"Opening our 300th location as we observe our 40th anniversary is a significant moment in the history of AFC. This achievement is evidence of the essential healthcare service we provide," said Dr. Bruce Irwin, Founder and CEO of AFC. "Whether operating corporately owned clinics or supporting local entrepreneurs through our franchising model, pursing our mission to provide the best health care possible is our primary focus. It also points to the success, stability, and longevity of AFC's patient-centric model."
Including the Wendell clinic, AFC has opened 40 new locations so far this year and is on track to expand to 500 locations in the coming years.
Like all American Family Care clinics, AFC Wendell offers state-of-the-art treatment across a broad range of services, including primary care. AFC medical providers treat and diagnose illnesses like the flu or a cold, injuries and accidents, including broken bones, and help patients manage a variety of health conditions ranging from arthritis to diabetes to high blood pressure. AFC also offers pre-employment physicals, drug screening, and treatment of work-related injuries.
AFC Wendell is located at 2200 Treelight Way in Wendell. The clinic offers extended hours serving the community seven days a week, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on weekends.
