OSHKOSH, WI / ACCESSWIRE / March 6, 2024 / Building off the successful 2022 event, Winnebago County partners are once again coming together to present the We Heart You: Recovery in Our Community Conference. This event aims to bridge the recovery community with the broader community, bring education and awareness to the community about addiction and resources available, break down stigmas, and inspire community change.
This year's keynote speaker is Milwaukee Bucks Assistant Coach Vin Baker. A successful basketball All-Star and Olympian, Vin will share his story of resilience as he struggled with addiction. His message is one of hope for others who are in the same predicament he was 12 years ago. We invite you to come listen to his and other local stories of inspiration.
The event, which has over 350 registrants, is sponsored by Winnebago County Human Services, JEK Foundation, AMS of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Midwest Detox, Rogers Behavioral Health, Breakwater, ThedaCare, Interstate Postgraduate Medical Association, Fox Valley Emergency Readiness Coalition, Harmonic Harvest, Apricity, and Mirrorless Productions. The event is brought to you by the Winnebago County Overdose Fatality Review Team, Solutions Recovery, and Winnebago County Public Health.
