Driven by a popular TikTok channel, Girl Math supports and educates young women on strategies and rationalizations for socialized, female decision making

The Girl Math community realizes the social concept of "girl math," which social media has popularized as a satirical take on young women's alleged difficulty in organizing their money and their lives.
Girl Math's brand identity is based on the idea of mental accounting theory, which involves organizing money into designated "mental buckets." For instance, a person will separate mental buckets for paying rent and shopping, etc.

Cognitive dissonance is defined as personal, mental tension which arises from holding two contradicting beliefs. As a young woman conducts herself during her day and in problem solving, the Girl Math community supports her applying strategic tools to alleviate this mental tension, "through the usage of biases and heuristics," as the spokeswoman put it, adding, "there are multiple biases used in girl math, one of them being a confirmation bias, leading people to pay attention to evidence that supports a critical decision and ignore what does not."
Girl Math takes aim at the cliche of a woman's thought process being irrational, which lives on as a perpetuated theory. Research shows that in classrooms, young girls begin to not try as much as the boys do. This comes from attention from instructors and the adoption of societal preconceptions of boys being more deserving as they will go on to support a family.
