Friday, 13 September 2024 09:05 AM

COLUMBIA, SC / ACCESSWIRE / September 13, 2024 / Using the power of social media, students at Allen University have initiated an online protest campaign. The email campaign is a first of its kind and highlights the power of social media and a well planned grassroots organized effort. The students and their supporters are planning a 45-day social media marathon campaign designed to bring attention to scholarship and grant funding issues. This initiative underscores the importance of clear and open communication between university administrations and their students, particularly regarding financial matters that directly impact student access to education. As the online campaign gains momentum, the future of many Allen University students hangs in the balance. With their education and financial stability uncertain, these students are demanding more than just answers-they're dedicated to standing up for their future and the integrity of an institution they love. Citizens For Justice continues its support for bringing attention to higher education issues of students nationwide and supports the students, their families and faculty.

The student led group has outlined several goals for their campaign, including:

  1. Requesting a transparent accounting of all funds raised for scholarships in recent years.

  2. Seeking clarification on any changes to scholarship allocations despite recent fundraising efforts.

  3. Advocating for the maintenance and reinstatement of scholarships to support students in need.
