This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal information entrusted to NYPSG.
WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?
In early 2024, NYPSG experienced a cybersecurity incident on its IT Network. NYPSG took immediate steps and launched an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the data breach. In the investigation, NYPSG discovered that an unauthorized third party was able to gain access to its systems and obtain sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information between January 4, 2024 and January 8, 2024. As a result, NYPSG launched a review to determine the exact type of sensitive information stolen in the data breach and the individuals whose personal information was compromised. On September 15, 2024, NYPSG completed its review.
NYPSG's investigation determined that the cybercriminal was able to gain access to the sensitive personal information of thousands of individuals. NYPSG discovered that the following types of sensitive personal information may have been exposed in the data breach included:Full Name, Social Security number, Clinical photographs, Date of birth, Driver's license or state identification number, Passport number, Financial account information, Biometric information, Medical information, and, Health insurance information. On October 4, 2024 NYPSG started sending notices to impacted individuals and made a public disclosure of the data breach. Compensation may be available for those individuals who received notice that their personal information was compromised.
