UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESSWIRE / November 13, 2024 / Marquis Who's Who Honors Mark D. Knippa for excellence in environmental bioremediation solutions for the oil and gas industry. Mr. Knippa, a respected leader in the energy industry, is currently serving as the president and chief executive officer of Boldwater USA LP and Boldwater Environmental Solutions and has been selected for his outstanding contributions to the field of clean energy solutions.
With more than 30 years of experience in business development and asset management, Mr. Knippa has brought a wealth of expertise to Boldwater. Since starting these companies, Mr. Knippa has driven the technology development and commercial restructure, beginning with Boldwater Resources Technologies and Eco Environmental Services, creating a robust environmental solutions firm adopting green eco-friendly bio-treatment applications and an EPA-compliant recycling of solid oil and gas drilling waste to the oil and gas industry. Through his dedication and leadership, Boldwater pioneered advancement in diesel-based closed-loop drilling bioremediation and the rapid removal of hydrocarbon contamination in soils and waterborne applications, utilizing natural, non-GMO, and environmentally clean, sustainable solutions.
Mr. Knippa's career has been marked by notable accomplishments that include his role as managing partner at Aspen Pipeline LP, where he was instrumental in developing and executing a 63-mile pipeline project to source and deliver high nitrogen, low BTU, off-spec fuel source to combined-cycle natural gas-fired plants.
After college, Mr. Knippa joined Enron Gas Pipeline Operating Company as an asset management facility engineer and later as director of business development and commercial origination at Enron Compression Services. Mr. Knippa oversaw key commodity sales, contract structuring, and project development. He later managed the restructuring and divestiture of compression assets. Through his career, he acquired invaluable experience that he brings to his leadership at Boldwater.
An advocate for environmentally conscious methods, Mr. Knippa obtained a patent for rapid bioremediation of contaminated materials that have been successfully applied to eliminate oil and gas waste streams, eliminate environmental liabilities, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with drilling and production operations.
The "Rapid Remediation Bioremediation" technologies break down the organic carbon chain and eliminate hydrocarbon compounds associated with waste drill cuttings, centrifuge waste, and other hydrocarbon contamination, achieving undetectable hydrocarbon levels consistently as determined by independent lab testing.
This bio-treatment, followed by a permitted and EPA-compliant recycling program, provides a high-quality construction base material that, once lab tested, can be beneficially used to replace native base materials for preapproved oil and gas construction such as lease roads, drilling and production pad sites, compression and pump stations, as an example.
Mr. Knippa envisions rapid bioremediation displacing waste hauling, disposal landfill dump sites, backside well injection, and deep burial methods for oil and gas drilling waste disposal. Bioremediation of hydrocarbon compounds such as diesel and other fuel types, BTEX, benzene, and other regulated compounds when done properly is a safe, cost-effective, comprehensive, and complete natural solution that avoids greenhouse gas emissions and addresses the environmental problems once and for all.
Beyond his industry achievements, Mr. Knippa's academic credentials include completing a Bachelor of Science in natural gas engineering from Texas A&M University - Kingsville, and executive programs such as corporate financial management offered by Rice University. His technical expertise and dedication to a more sustainable environment have set him apart as an industry leader.
Mr. Knippa is deeply committed to the growth of the Boldwater companies and is currently expanding into offshore and inland waters spill bioremediation of hydrocarbons with products and application technologies that will complement current spill responder companies worldwide with a wide array of open water, shoreline, wetland and tidal area bio-treatment capabilities.
Mr. Knippa envisions that the generations to follow will continue to seek new technologies that help to preserve our environment by minimizing dangerous contaminants and consistently striving for cleaner energy and sustainable solutions.
As Boldwater remains steadfast in its mission to offer comprehensive, environmentally responsible solutions to the energy sector, Mr. Knippa expects to see leadership to continue advancement this industry. Mr. Knippa's inclusion in Marquis Who's Who reflects his firm commitment to sustainable energy solutions and his influence as a leader in the industry.
